ICWC 2022 St Therese Novena.png

St. Thérèse of Lisieux will be present at the 2022 Idaho Catholic Women's Conference!

Find her relic towards the front of the church, to the right of the altar, near the baptismal font. We hope you will take some time during the conference to venerate this powerful, cherished saint. Her intercession has already been felt by our planning committee during the preparations for this conference.

Even if you are not joining us in person for the conference, we hope you will join us in praying with her for the hearts of all who will attend, for protection over our speakers and attendees, and that she and Blessed Carlo will pray for smooth sailing with all the technology involved in making the Conference possible.

(Jump to Opening Prayer)

St. Thérèse was born in 1873 in Alencon, France, and died in 1897 in Lisieux. Born Thérèse Martin, at 15 she entered the Visitation Convent as a cloistered Carmelite nun. She died of tuberculosis only nine years later. In that short time, she developed a unique spirituality which she called, "the Little Way," which is described in her autobiography, The Story of  Soul. The Little Way is often described in the context of a garden, with each soul represented as one of the many, varied flowers that are necessary for a garden to be beautiful and fruitful. Thus. St Thérèse is often known as "the Little Flower."

As the end of her life approached, St Thérèse promised that she would, "spend [her] heaven doing good on the Earth. After death, I shall let fall a Shower of Roses." For over a century, since her death, stories have abounded of the myriad ways St Thérèse has fulfilled this promise, and brought roses, sometimes even literal ones,  to those who seek her intercession.

Opening Prayer

(Repeat at the start of each day)

(Begin with the Sign of the Cross.)

Dearest Saint Therese of Lisieux, you said that you would spend your time in heaven doing good on earth.

Your trust in God was complete. Pray that He may increase my trust in His goodness and mercy as I ask for the following petitions…

(State your intentions)

Pray for me that I, like you, may have great and innocent confidence in the loving promises of our God. Pray that I may live my life in union with God’s plan for me, and one day see the Face of God whom you loved so deeply.

Saint Therese, you were faithful to God even unto the moment of your death. Pray for me that I may be faithful to our loving God. May my life bring peace and love to the world through faithful endurance in love for God our savior.
